The American Cancer Society will undertake its largest research project in years, Cancer Prevention Study-3 (CPS-3), is seeking 300,000 participants across the county to be a part of this study to help researchers understand the genetic, environmental and lifestyle factors that cause or prevent cancer. The goal ultimately, to save lives.



The study is open to anyone between the ages of 30 and 65 who has never been diagnosed with cancer. Enrollment takes 30-60 minutes where participants will be asked to complete a comprehensive survey, have their waist measured and give a small blood sample. Upon completion of enrollment, the ACS will send periodic follow-up surveys.



Residents in the Okaloosa and Walton County area can take part in this study. Sign up at Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast during CPS-3 enrollment from 7-10:30 a.m. March 14 on the 2nd floor atrium.
