NOAA Fisheries Southeast Regional Administrator, Dr. Roy Crabtree is hosting a teleconference about the 2013 recreational red snapper fishing season to discuss how we arrived where we are today, short-term and long-term management options and hear from you as to how we can work together moving forward.

The teleconference will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. EST on April 4. Dial 1-888-282-0566 and use the password: RED SNAPPER.

Although red snapper are recovering quickly in the Gulf of Mexico, the recreational fishing season keeps getting shorter.  The 2013 season is projected to be the shortest on record and could be even shorter off those states that implement less restrictive regulations in their waters.
