Charles Ellison Martin
Charlie Martin, brother, father, uncle and friend, left us unexpectedly last week.
Charlie is a Destin legend. A fisherman, diver, carpenter, a phone call away is how we will remember Charlie. Always there ready to help; always a part of our community. Charlie embraced all that life as a true Destinite has to offer.
In his love of the sea, both from the top, with a hook and line, to down below, he fed his adventurous spirit. He made more memories than most can make in two lifetimes, and happily relayed them in true ‘fisherman style’. Of late, his wood working talents brought a new found happiness and sharing his talent with the community was a source of pride.
Charlie is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. He leaves behind a multitude of family and friends. He will be greatly missed on the docks he called home.
A celebration of Charlie’s life will be held at 5 p.m. March 29 ‘on the hill’ at Harborwalk Marina.
