Seagar’s Dan Drake earns certified sommelier distinction



Seagar’s Prime Steaks and Seafood recently announced Bar Manager Dan Drake as the restaurant’s newest certified sommelier. Destin’s only AAA Four Diamond rated restaurant, Seagar’s is widely regarded by wine connoisseurs and recently won its ninth consecutive ‘Best of Award of Excellence’ from Wine Spectator magazine.



“We applaud Dan’s dedication in earning the coveted title of certified sommelier and sharing his passion and expertise in wine with our guests at Seagar’s,” said Gary Brielmayer, general manager of Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort and Spa. “It’s an honor to have one of just a very few certified sommeliers in Northwest Florida at our restaurant.”



Administered by the Court of Master Sommeliers, the world’s leading authority on service, the certified sommelier examination Drake passed in February consists of a blind tasting of two wines, a written theory examination and a practical service examination.



SimpleHR's new director of first Impressions



SimpleHR has announced Jennifer Johnston as its front desk operations/receptionist and the official “director of first impressions”. She is directly responsible for the day to day front desk operations which include inventory management, departmental communications and customer service administration. She handles the processing of all client new hires and their paperwork.

Johnston loves being on the water or at the beach and enjoys spending time with her husband, Caleb.

Mary K. Kraemer accepts position with Florida State Senate



Mary K. Kraemer, formerly Of Counsel with Matthews & Jones, LLP, has accepted a position with the Florida State Senate. A graduate of the Florida State University College of Law, Kraemer had been Of Counsel with the firm for more than 12 years. In her new role, she will serve as general counsel to the Committee on Regulated Industries in the Florida State Senate. Her experience and knowledge gained in three decades of practice in Northwest Florida will no doubt prove invaluable to our elected leaders in Tallahassee.
