Waste Management to provide backdoor and side yard services

Waste Management recently announced it offers backdoor and side yard services to qualified residents of Okaloosa County who are unable to place containers at their curb.

“As we worked with Okaloosa County determining the services for the residents, we were very pleased to offer the backdoor or side yard services,” said Domenica Farmer, senior district manager. “Our employees are pleased to assist our customers that are unable to take their household garbage carts and recycling bins to the curbside.”

To qualify for complimentary backdoor and side yard services, residents must be living without daily assistance from family, friends or other care providers and must be able to show proof of handicap or disability, approved by the county. Residents interested in this complimentary service must apply by completing the application for services and returning it to the Waste Management office at 108 Hill Avenue in Fort Walton Beach.

The application can be found at 108 Hill Avenue, or call 850-301-2822. Existing qualified handicapped customers will not need to submit an application and will continue to receive service.
