The Destin Marlins blasted the visiting Baker Gators 20-0 in girls softball action last week in their season opener at home.
"We were hitting the ball after we readjusted our timing," said Destin Coach Warren Whitaker.
Madison Henry ripped a home run and Faith Ford knocked a stand-up double.
"Everybody put the ball in play and moved the runners around," he said.
At the end of two innings, Destin was on top 7-0.
In the bottom of the third with two outs, Destin put the game away with 14 runs.
Whitaker said his team played well.
"They were doing what I expected," he said.
Next week, will be a challenge for the 1-0 Marlins when they travel to Shalimar for a 4 p.m. game on April 22 against the Meigs Wildcats.
"They've got speed and accuracy in their pitcher," he said.
"Hopefully we'll have time this week to get back in that fastball grove. And we can't make any errors."
