Local bands wanted for Bowlegs Festival

Local bands are urged to apply for a spot on the stage at the 58th Annual Billy Bowlegs Pirate Festival in Fort Walton Beach May 30 through June 1. The festivities start off with a gala parade on Thursday, May 30, that wends its way up Eglin Parkway. Then the party moves to the Landing, a waterfront park, where pirates and their wenches — along with buccaneers in training — gather to enjoy the vendors and entertainment that pervades the park through June 1.

Headline entertainers are Cabo Rock, Tom Mason and the Blue Buccaneers, and Don’t Stop Believin’. Two spots are open for local talent — Friday afternoon and 5 p.m. Saturday. Interested bands should submit a press kit with audio files to Rachelle Graves at RachelleGraves@fwbchamber.org or deliver it to the Chamber at 34 Miracle Strip Parkway, SE, in Fort Walton Beach, before May 10.
