Families at Rocky Bayou Christian School are celebrating a banner year for their students. RBCS’s 55 2013 graduates currently have earned more than $4.4 million in scholarship offers, an average of $80k per student, with more than half of the seniors meeting the new higher standards for Bright Futures scholarships.
Among these stellar seniors are a future US Air Force Academy cadet, a Taylor Haugen Award finalist, two Taylor Haugen Scholarship winners, a Wendy’s High School Heisman state finalist, an FHSAA Academic All Star State Finalist, an American Legion Auxiliary State Representative, an Horatio Alger Scholarship recipient, a State Science and Engineering Fair Award Winner, a Western Carolina University Leadership Institute selectee, and several Okaloosa Art Show Winners, as well as students taking a gap year to serve in overseas missions.
In addition, the Destin campus graduated its first class of fifth graders under Rocky Bayou Christian School’s direction, a great capstone to a year of new progress in technology incorporation and high-achieving academics, all while maintaining small class size. Looking to the 2013-2014 school year, the Destin Campus will be adding two new classes — a Talent Development (TD) Class and a sixth grade class.
