Love, Hope & Pizza fundraiser
Throughout October, all large pizzas at Hungry Howie's, recently opened at 34904 Emerald Coast Parkway, #138 in Destin, will be served in bright pink boxes with the breast cancer awareness ribbon instead of the classic yellow boxes in support of breast cancer awareness.
For every large pizza purchased, Hungry Howie's will make a donation to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. An additional $1 will also be donated to NBCF when customers purchase Love, Hope & Pizza wristbands, become a new fan on the Hungry Howie’s Facebook page, share a breast cancer story on the Facebook page, and for every tweet using the hashtag #lovehopepizza. Hungry Howie’s Facebook fans can also make a donation to NBCF through the Facebook page.
Volunteers for Seafood Festival
The Destin Seafood Festival needs volunteers for the 34th Annual Destin Seafood Festival on the Destin Harbor Boardwalk. This much loved community event, hosted by the Destin Charter Boat Association, benefits local charities and non-profit groups as well as the Destin Fishing & History Museum and the Destin Fishing Rodeo.
Volunteers get to enjoy the Festival while contributing to the community. A special volunteer area is set up next to the Destin City Main stage with food and drinks for all of our volunteers. For information, contact Mary Lurk at firstname.lastname@example.org or Kathy Eller email@example.com.
Emerald Coast Hospice needs volunteers
Volunteers play a vital role in the ability of Emerald Coast Hospice to provide exceptional care to our terminally-ill patients. Volunteers receive specialized training to develop skills necessary to work with patients and their families. Training, background check, drug testing and TB testing are provided at no cost. For information, call 850-862-1069 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
New laser center in Destin
Dr. Nitin Bawa of Dr. Bawa and Associates announces the opening of a full service laser center in his clinic. Bawa has partnered with Cutera, one of the leading laser companies and has their full line of lasers. They offer everything from laser vein removal, laser resurfacing, laser scar removal, laser hair removal, photofacials, laser pore reduction and laser nail fungus removal.
Limelight is used to remove sun spots and redness from the skin which are common problems in Florida. The Limelight laser is the right wavelength for sun spots and temporarily darkens them and then flake off in a couple of weeks. Bawa also points out that Laser Genesis is a mild facial that helps to reduce pore size, reduce redness and uneven texture.
