Socrates "Soc" George Kent
Socrates "Soc" George Kent was born on March 22, 1922, in Chicago, Ill., and left us in Destin, Fla., on June 29, 2013 for even more good times.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances "Fran", who was his quiet support, capable coworker and willing participant in jokes and other celebrations for 61 years.
He is survived by three sons, Michael G. Kent and wife Gayle Kent, Timothy J. Kent and wife, Doree Kent, and Christopher A. Kent and significant other, Jane Taylor; a daughter, Dr. Elyse M. Kent; grandchildren; great-grandchildren and many friends.
Soc played trumpet in big bands during the war years and capably passed that skill on to all four of his children who continue that same search for excellence in their own lives and careers.
His involved and entertaining stories, quick wit, unforgettable laugh and ability to make others smile with him continued unabated throughout his life.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. July 3 at Faith Assembly Church, 306 S Geronimo Street in Destin, with a viewing from 6-8 p.m. July 2 McLaughlin Mortuary, 12 Chestnut Avenue SE in Fort Walton Beach. Interment will be in Destin Memorial Cemetery.

Kenneth Wayne Destin
Kenny was born to Wayne and Shirley Destin. He is preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Shirah Destin, and two brothers, Tyree and Kevin Destin.
He is survived by his parents, Wayne and Linda; his children, Dawn, Suzanne and Joshua; 12 grandchildren; his sister, Anita and husband, Todd, Hill; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
We all love you and will truly miss you! May God rest your soul!
Memorial services were to be held June 29 at Taylor Park in Destin.
