L M Thorne
L M Thorne of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., 76, was born March 27, 1937, and died July 25, 2013.
He graduated from Samson High School, Samson, Ala., attended Southeastern Bible College in Lakeland, Fla., and received his doctorate degree from Christian International. He was recognized as bishop through Christian Life School of Theology.
He did mission work in Australia, Belgium, China, Cyprus, Korea, Philippines, South Africa, Turkey and 17 trips to different states in the CIS.
He founded the Abundant Life Church on July 1, 1976, and remained pastor until his illness.
He is survived by his wife, June; children, Michael Thorne of Shalimar, Fla., and Terry Thorne and wife Jessica of Destin, Fla.; grandchildren, Sydney Thorne, Destin, Lindsey Thorne, Gulf Breeze, Fla., Madison Thorne, Juneau, Alaska, Reagan and Reilly Thorne, Destin; sisters, Shirley Wagner and husband Paul of Fort Walton Beach, and Reba Askins also of Fort Walton Beach; and brother, the Rev. Richard Thorne and wife, Betty of Samson, Ala.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. July 30 at Abundant Life Church, 233 N Hill Ave. in Fort Walton Beach.
Celebration of Life will be at 1 p.m. July 31 at Abundant Life Church.
