On Saturday at about 8:17 p.m., Destin firefighters responded to calls of a boat in distress behind Marbella Condominiums.
When they arrived on scene, they saw it was smoke and flames coming from a 33-foot Grady White. Crews attacked the fire from land and sea once a fire boat arrived, said Battalion Chief Jimmy Taylor.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, but damage is estimated to be in the $50,000 range. By Monday morning the boat had been towed away from the docks behind the condo.
