David A. Porter
David A. Porter, born Sept. 15, 1964, passed away Aug. 5, 2013.
David had been ill for an extended time due to heart problems and diabetes. He now resides with his Lord Jesus Christ in a new body and uplifted soul. David accepted Jesus into his life at the First Baptist Church in Clayton, Ga., many years ago. He has suffered for many years but never gave up the fight to live a productive life with Jesus as his helpmate and savior. David fought a good fight and kept the faith.
He is survived by three daughters, Autumn, Shea and Destiny; his mother, Delinda E. Williams, and step-father, John Williams of Shalimar, Fla.; his father, William Porter of Orlando, Fla.; his brother, William Porter of Fort Walton Beach; sisters, Wendy Wood of Perry, Fla., and Jeanne Yonish of Shalimar; and many nieces, nephews and other family members.
A service in celebration of David's life was to take place Aug. 9 at First Baptist Church, 21 1st Street in Fort Walton Beach.
The family would like to extend our thanks to David's close friends, Jeff and Mary Burns of Destin and Brian and Eva Ryznic of Black Creek, Fla., for their help and love of David during his illness, and to the doctors and staff of White Wilson Clinic for their help and care of David over the past two years.
David's wish was to be cremated. A private service with his ashes to be spread in the Gulf of Mexico will be held at a later date.
