Lorraine Morawski, 86, passed away peacefully at home Aug. 14, 2013, surrounded by her family. Mrs. Morawski was born on Nov. 9, 1926, in Chicago, Ill., to the late Andrew and Lydia Welin. She was a resident of Destin, Fla., for 28 years and previously resided in Chicago, Ill., LaGrange, Ill. and Painesville, Ohio.
Mrs. Morawski was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Richard T. Morawski, Sr.
She is survived by her cousin, Margaret Lindstrand of Park Forest, Ill.; son, Richard T. Morawski, Jr., and wife, Christine, of West Chester, Ohio; daughters, Anne Morawski of Albuquerque, N.M. and Janet McKenzie and husband, Michael, of Birmingham, Ala.; son, Michael Morawski and wife, Hope, of Chicago, Ill.; grandchildren, Carolyn Minton, Paul Morawski and Bridgette, Jonathan and Griffin McKenzie; great-grandchildren, Claire, Ian and Stella Minton; and many nieces and nephews.
Family will greet friends from 6-7 p.m. Aug. 16 at Community Church, 3524 Hwy 98 West in Santa Rosa Beach. Funeral service begins at 7 p.m., followed by a reception.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Aug. 21 at Holy Cross Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3116 S. Racine Ave., Chicago, Ill., with a viewing at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Garden South in Oaklawn, Ill.
In lieu of flowers, the family requesst that donations be made to Community Church, Santa Rosa Beach or to Holy Cross Lutheran Church in memory of Lorraine Morawski.
