Destin Seafood Festival



DESTIN – The 34th Annual Destin Seafood Festival returns to its original home on the Destin harbor from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Oct. 6 and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 7. Enjoy fresh local seafood, live music, artists, Kids Zone and more. The event is free and donations will be accepted at the door.



Dash Around the Table Tour and Expo

Tri-County Fair Fine Arts Show



FORT WALTON BEACH – The 29th Northwest Florida Tri-County Fair Fine Arts Show, sponsored by the Arts and Design Society and the Northwest Florida Fair Board, will be held from 5-10 p.m. Oct. 8-12 and 12-10 p.m. Oct. 13 at C.H. Bull Rigdon Fairgrounds and Recreation Complex (formerly The Northwest Florida Fairgrounds), 1958 Lewis Turner Blvd. Artworks in every medium will be on display; high school and middle school art will be a special feature. Northwest Florida Fair
FORT WALTON BEACH – The 2012 Northwest Florida Fair will be held Oct. 8-13 at the C.H.”Bull” Rigdon Fairgrounds. The Myers International Midway will bring rides along with other 4-H exhibits and shows consisting of poultry, goats and cattle. The Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show is like nothing you have ever seen before.
Preview the Fair free from 5-7p.m. Oct. 8; after that time the gate will go to $5. Family night is Tuesday with $2 for the whole family to enter; Military night is Oct. 10 with free entry to the retired and active military and dependents. Thursday night is student night, wear your school shirt for free entry. A donation will be made to the school who has the most attend, and Saturday is Kids’ Day.

Window Gallery Display

FORT WALTON BEACH – The Arts and Design Society will offer the following workshop at 17 First St. Call 244-1271.
• Florals (Acrylics): Loretta Menendian will teach a one-day acrylics class in Florals from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 11. Cost is $150/members and $165/non-members. Students provide their own materials; a list will be available at the ADSO office.
• Palm Tree and Beach (Acrylics): Loretta Menendian will teach a one-day acrylics class, the subject of which will be the Beach and Palm Trees, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 18. Cost is $150/members and $165/non-members.



Friendraiser



DESTIN – Legendary Marine will host a shrimp boil and silent auction from 5-7 p.m. Oct. 12 at legendary Marine Yacht Club to raise money for David Mallicoat who was critically injured in an ATV accident in March. Best of the Emerald Coast



SANDESTIN – The 2012 winners voted The Best by readers of Emerald Coast Magazine will be on display from 6-9 p.m. Oct. 13 at Grand Boulevard along the main street. The evening includes food, fun, fashion and entertainment, silent auction, and live music. Admission is $25/advance and $35/day of. All proceeds benefit the Junior League of the Emerald Coast. Destin Beer Festival



DESTIN –The newly branded Destin Beer Festival will be held from 1-5 p.m. Oct. 13 and will feature an afternoon of specialty brews, eclectic cuisine, and live entertainment along the main street of Destin Commons. The event will also offer a VIP Tent in Center Plaza and a merchandise booth. The event will benefit The Children’s Neighborhood of Children in Crisis, Inc. DESTIN – The Friends Guild of the Destin Library presents an independent and foreign film at 7 p.m. the third Tuesday of the month. The program is free and open to the public. Drama ‘Proof’



NICEVILLE – The Humanities, Fine and Performing Arts Division of Northwest Florida State College will present the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning play “Proof” at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 17-20 in the Sprint Theater of the Mattie Kelly Arts Center. NICEVILLE – The 36th Annual Boggy Bayou Mullet Festival opens at 11 a.m. Oct. 19, 9 a.m. Oct. 20 and 10 a.m. Oct. 21 at the intersection of Hwy. 85 N and College Boulevard. Destin Festival of the Arts



DESTIN – The Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation will present the 17th Annual Destin Festival of the Arts from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 27 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 28 at Henderson Beach State Park. This signature event features more than 100 artists from around the United States who will exhibit in more than 18 different mediums competing for more than $9,000 in cash prizes. Other amenities are live musical entertainment, a bistro-style food court, Kid’s ArtStop and festival merchandise.
