Fall is just around the corner, and with the change in season comes the change in colors, trends, and fabrics at the Sandestin Family Retail Shops.  Island Clothiers, Barefoot Princess, Coconut Kids, Toys & Treasures, and the Sandestin Clothing Company are all gearing up for the cooler weather ahead.

“September and October are my favorite months of the year here,” says Sandestin’s Director of Retail Sara Becnel. “The crowds are starting to thin out, and it is the time for the locals to really enjoy their surroundings.  The water is still warm coming off the summer, and the beaches and shops are not as crowded, so the locals can take full advantage of all our area has to offer.”

With that being said, now is the perfect time to revisit the Village of Baytowne Wharf and stop into one or more of the Sandestin Family Retail Shops.

All fall and winter, the five stores will be having a day dedicated only to locals. Every Sunday, is “Locals’ Day.” Just present your local driver’s license and receive 20 percent off one full-priced item at each of the stores.

“It is just our way of saying ‘thank you’ to the community for all of their continued support,” Becnel says with a smile.

With a flurry of fashion forward fabrics, such as cashmere and leather, and trendy football fashion for men and women, Island Clothiers has something for everyone this autumnal season.

“We are starting to receive some great fall pieces from some of our favorite vendors such as Trina Turk and Karlie.  There are so many cozy options to choose from; it makes me wish it were colder outside,” says Becnel.

Coconut Kids will also be carrying football gear for the young ones in the form of youth polos from State Traditions, one of the vendors carried at Island Clothiers. So Dad and the little one can both support their favorite team in style. They will also carry the latest fall fashions from such brands as MudPie, Haven Girl, J Bailey, and Tea, and have both boys and girls sizes from infant through youth 14.

At Barefoot Princess, Sandestin’s Lilly Pulitzer Signature Store, lace details and bold colors reign supreme this fall, and there are exciting special events on the horizon. “Moonlight Mischief” is the first of these events at Barefoot Princess on Oct. 5, and during this event, guests will be able to receive a fabulous Lilly Pulitzer bracelet as a gift with purchase.

There are fall items to be found even over at Toys & Treasures, with a great lineup of back-to-school products from Hello Kitty and cuddly stuffed animals to help keep the tots warm on those cooler fall nights.  Next door at the Sandestin Clothing Company, logo sweatshirts, new colors of the Spirit football jerseys for men, women, and children, and amazingly comfortable pullovers are arriving daily.

Other fall events include participation in the South Walton Fashion Week by Coconut Kids, Island Clothiers, and Barefoot Princess, a trunk show on Oct. 12 from 3-5 p.m. with State Traditions, a Milly gift with purchase event also in conjunction with fashion week from Oct. 11-13, and a Vineyard Vines gift with purchase Nov. 8-10.
