DESTIN -- A fire early Saturday destroyed a $500,000 RV.

When Destin firefighters arrived at the scene about 5:30 a.m. they found it engulfed in flames, Battalion Chief Mike Urenda said.

The RV was parked behind a locked fence at the rear of a commercial property in the 300 block of Mountain Drive.

Firefighters were able to put out the blaze quickly. No structures were damaged.

The owner of the RV was contacted after the fire.

Urenda said the cause of the blaze was still under investigation.
