The Liza Jackson Lions dominated the Destin Marlins 25-7 and 25-9 in middle school volleyball action Monday evening in Destin.



The Lions scored first on four straight serves from Rachel Nusom. Destin picked up its first point on a missed shot by Liza Jackson.



Caroline Porter served up a point for the Marlins but then lost it on the next shot.



Liza Jackson's Savanah Bailey went to the line and served up five points with Alyssa Sehman slamming in a couple for the Lions. Destin broke the serve, then Sam Houston served up an ace for the Marlins, plus another point before turning it back over the Lions.



Sehman had two aces for the Lions and then missed to give the ball back to Destin.



The Marlins failed to capitalize and turned it back over to the Lions.



Liza Jackson made two more five-point runs to post a 25-7 win.



In game two, Destin got on the board first with Porter at the service line for three points.



The Lions broke the serve and answered with four points on serves from Nusom.



Destin picked up points here and there throughout the game, but could never sustain a run on the Lions.



Bailey had a big run at the line for the Lions as did Belanna Torres who finished up with six straight points.



Up next for the Marlins is a 4 p.m. game Monday at Lewis Middle School in Valparaiso.
