All it took was one excavator, a few dump trucks, a little manpower and a few days to completely demolish the dilapidated townhomes that sat at 1940 Hwy. 98 W. With the buildings razed, developers can turn their attention from demolition to construction.

The new project, 1900 98, is being touted as the first Gulf-front condo development in six years and is slated to become a 12-story, 14-unit project. 1900 98 is being developed by Chancey Design Partnership.

Units in 1900 98, which feature panoramic views of the Gulf of Mexico, boast almost 3,000-square feet and range in price from $1,475,000 for a unit on the third floor to $3,295,000 for an 11th floor penthouse.

To learn more about the project visit www.1900-98.com or visit the Preview Center located inside the Whitney Bank at 14060 Emerald Coast Pkwy.  The preview center has large displays with floor plans, amenities and information about the contractors and developers.

There is even sand on the floor so "when you walk in it's like you are walking on the beach," Abbot told The Log.

Construction on 1900 98 is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2014.
