Although it can be downright startling to see a black bear in your neighborhood, thereís no reason to panic. Bears that see humans are usually scared of them. Making loud noises will further scare them away.
As the FWC spokesman stated, thereís no need to trap and/or kill the bear. Letís remember that for 38 years they were on the Endangered Species List. And their habitats arenít getting any larger. Thatís our fault.

To avoid attracting bears, coyotes or any other animal, do not leave pet food outside; keep garbage cans closed; keep dogs and cats indoors, as responsible pet owners always should do.
