The Tutoring Center in Grand Boulevard at Sandestin held a grand opening celebration on Oct. 4 as guests toured the facility, signed up for a free diagnostic assessment, and shared refreshments and appetizers with friends and staff members. The event was catered by Royal Orchid Thai Cuisine.
The honor of cutting the ribbon went to the Walton Area Chamber of Commerce at 5:30 p.m. The Tutoring Center is located at 655 Grand Boulevard, between Lee’s Spa and Nails and The French Laundry.
The Tutoring Center specializes in individualized, one-to-one instruction to improve academic skills for children from kindergarten through 12th grade. Subjects include reading, writing, math, algebra, geometry, study-skills and more. SAT and ACT test preparation programs will be added soon. The Tutoring Center has sessions available Monday through Thursday and on Saturday mornings. Children may attend two or three sessions per week. The Tutoring Center of Sandestin is owned by Mike and Julie Blech, community residents fo rmore than five years. As parents of three boys in elementary and middle schools, they understand the importance of mastering basic skills as well as complex concepts.
