Vicki Matthews lives her life following a simple motto that has never let her down, “What you dare to dream, dare to do.”



“I’ve taken that philosophy and attitude to the real estate business and other parts of my life,” the Realtor with Coldwell Banker United told The Log. “If you firmly believe it and you believe in yourself, you can do what you dream.”



Matthews, who has been with Coldwell Banker since 2009, is a Previews Certified agent that specializes in high-end luxury condos on the beach, although her sales have run the gamut this year including condos, single family residences, residential land and even small commercial parcels. She has the knowledge and expertise to assist buyers and sellers with all of their real estate needs.



As a self-described “people person,” Matthews said joining the local real estate market was a natural fit, as she came into the business with a wealth of knowledge and experience gained from her previous career as the owner of a mortgage banking firm in Atlanta. HomeSouth Mortgage was started with a handful of employees and by the time the company was sold, it boasted nine offices and 150 employees.



“I strive to bring a high level of professionalism to my real estate business. I take my responsibilities to my clients very seriously and am totally dedicated to get results," said Matthews, who assist buyers and sellers from Panama City to Pensacola Beach.



The key for Matthews is hard work and giving her clients exactly what they want. If you do that, the results will follow, she said. On a daily basis, 10-12 hour days are the norm, as she makes sure every detail is in place and every phone call retuned.



Providing accurate information and analysis is key, she says, and telling the clients “not what they want to hear” but the “facts.”



“That’s our jobs as professionals,” she added.



This attention to detail and client needs has proven successful for Matthews, who has more than $14 million in closed volume and another $3 million pending so far this year.



“My drive to be successful is huge,” she said. “I can’t and don’t cut corners, regardless of how much time, effort and expense it takes.”



“When I was in the mortgage business, I would get a kick out of putting people in their first homes, which was the American dream,” she added. “Now, it’s kind of the same feeling, except I’m helping people achieve their dream of owning a beach home.”
