Support the Walton County Coastal Branch Library and experience the beauty of Books and Blooms. Come out and enjoy beautiful floral arrangements fashioned around book titles. The Green Thumb Garden Club and the Friends of the Walton County Coastal Branch Library present Books and Blooms, Jan. 25 at the Coastal Branch. What a great way to spend your Saturday and discover what your library has to offer.

"GreenThumb GardenClub has always been a huge supporter of the Coastal Branch Library,” said Carol Saucier, co-chairperson, along with Ellen Tabor. “This event is a way to honor the library and bring awareness of all the branch has to offer."

Members of the Garden Club along with others in the community are creating more than 30 flower arrangements centered around book titles. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at Magnolia House on Grand Boulevard, Hick's Nursery and at the door. These delightful arrangements will be on display in the library and several will be part of a silent auction.  Further, five gift baskets will be placed in a raffle. All proceeds from the auction, the raffle and ticket sales will support the Walton County Coastal Branch Library.

In addition to the floral displays, Marie Harrison will demonstrate how to create an arrangement using a book title as your inspiration. The Friends Gift Shop will be open and a "mini" book sale held by the Friends of the Walton County Coastal Branch Library.

Books and Blooms' deep gratitude goes out to its sponsors, Chuck and Shirley Simpson, long time Coastal Branch supporters.  A big thank you for your encouragement and assistance.
