Mary Ann McClung
Mary Ann McClung passed away on Jan. 13, 2014. She was born July 24, 1937, to Lillian Mae Heitman and Louis Altus Fitzgerald in Little Rock, Ark. She spent her early years in Little Rock and Hot Springs, Ark., before entering Henderson State University in Arkadelphia. She married David McClung April 2, 1960, in Bad Godesberg, Germany, while he was in the U.S. Marine Corps and she was working for the CIA at the American Embassy.
Mary Ann was a resident of Destin, Fla., for the past 16 years; she formerly resided in Nashville, Tenn., for 15 years and Atlanta, Ga., for 17 years.
She was predeceased by her father and mother and her daughter, Kimberly Anne. She was also predeceased by her half siblings, Thomas Howard Fitzgerald, Frances Marie Fitzgerald Tillery and Louis Altus Fitzgerald, Jr.
She is survived by her beloved husband, David; her son, David, Jr. and wife, Donna McClung, of San Francisco, Calif.; her daughter, Kelly and husband, Freeman Bell, of Roswell, N.M., and her adored grandson, Zachary Williford of Gainesville, Fla.
A celebration of life will be held from 3-6 p.m. July 26 at the Kelly Plantation Golf Clubhouse in Destin.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Covenant Hospice, 5401 North 12th Ave, Pensacola, Fla., the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
Heritage Gardens Funeral Home in Niceville, Fla., is entrusted with arrangements.
