I have been so joyful about how the people of God have let their voices be heard concerning Phil Robertson and “Duck Dynasty.” As many of you know, Phil, the "Patriarch" of the "Duck Dynasty" squad, was interviewed by GQ magazine for their January edition. Phil, a Christian man who is truly devoted to the Christian faith and his family, was asked, among other things, what he considered sin to be. He quoted the Bible, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, simply projecting what God says to be sin in His Holy Book.

“Do you not know that the unjust will not inherit God's kingdom? Do not be deceived: no sexually immoral people, idolaters, adulterers, male prostitutes, homosexuals, thieves, greedy people, drunkards, revilers, or swindlers will inherit God's kingdom.”

Many homosexuals say that they are offended because the good brother Phil compared homosexuals with drunkards and thieves. Well, hello. God created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve. God says that homosexuality is an abomination (disgusting) to him. (Leviticus 20:13)

But Phil went on to say that he "shows respect for all human beings, and has love in his heart for everyone." Because he loves people bound by homosexual demons that are trying to take them to hell, he was kind enough to tell them that if they continue to do such abominable and disgusting acts they would not go to heaven. He said this so that perhaps they would see the error of their ways, and flee to Jesus Christ, the One who wants to save them and set them free, if only they will repent.

If we as Christians do not tell sinners to repent and to seek Jesus for mercy, then they absolutely have no hope. Phil simply was giving homosexuals, along with all sinners, hope. The next verse, 1 Corinthians 6:11, goes on to say

"Some of you were like this; but you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God."

I attest that I did many of those things on the "list" of those who will not go to heaven. But I fell down on my knees under conviction for my sins and cried out like a baby to Jesus in repentance, and He heard my cry. His precious blood washed me clean of every stain. Jesus took my sins away, gave me a new heart, a new nature, and new desires. He will do the same for anyone who repents and comes to Him by faith. But as Romans 10:14 says, "How can they hear without a preacher?"

So, go Phil, keep preaching so souls can be saved. And all Christians everywhere must do the same. Christians, arise to the glorious occasion. Jesus is coming soon.
