Comedy competition



Crab Island Cantina presents “So You Think You’re Funny,” a comedy competition, at 6 p.m. every Sunday through March 9. Sign up at 5 p.m. Comedians from all over the south will compete. Pardi in Paradise



More than 100 parade entries will roll, float, pedal and push their way down the Destin Harbor Boardwalk from AJ’s Seafood and Oyster Bar to the west end of HarborWalk Village at the Sixth Annual Mardi Gras Parade at 2 p.m. March 1. Revelers will be entertained by street performers, brass bands, live music and colorful beads at the 2014 celebration. Entry fee for parade of $50 benefits the 33rd Fighter Wing Booster Club.



Window display



During March, the Arts and Design Society, 17 First Street, SE in Fort Walton Beach, presents the works of Pat Federinko, who works in paint, pottery and glass, in the studio windows facing First Street.



Beachcomber Music Awards



The Sixth Annual Beachcomber Music Award winners will be announced at a special awards ceremony at 7 p.m. March 3 at Funky Blues Shack in Destin. Admission is free. During the evening a guitar signed by Beachcomberland musicians will be auctioned off with all proceeds going to Shelter House.



Ribbon cutting/street party



Celebrate the opening of Jackacudas Seafood & Sushi and Fat Tuesday with free red beans and rice and a street party through HarborWalk Village from 5-11 p.m. March 4.



Art show/reception



The Arts and Design Society will host the annual Van Porter Student Art Show March 4-14 at 17 First Street, SE, in Fort Walton Beach. The exhibit showcases outstanding eighth grade and 12th grade art work. The opening reception will be from 5-7 p.m. March 6.



Spring Break Concert Series



HarborWalk Village hosts the Spring Break Concert Series from 2-5 p.m. March 8 with live music on the Village Stage with Gypsy Riot. Concerts are free and open to the public.

Rat Pack

Art exhibit



The Arts & Design Society’s 22nd Juried Southeast Regional and Heather Mitchell, the 2013 Best-in-Show winner, will be honored with a solo exhibition in the Holzhauer Gallery from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. through March 14 at the Mattie Kelly Arts Center in Niceville.



Cattle Barons’ Ball



Guests donned in casual Western wear will “Lasso A Cure at the ACS Ranch” at 6 p.m. March 15 Linkside at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort at the Seventh Annual Emerald Coast Cattle Barons’ Ball. Entertainment includes The Modern Eldorados, live and silent auctions, complimentary drinks and fancy vittles. The Ball will benefit the American Cancer Society. Artwalk on the Harbor



Local and regional artists and vendors display their work at Artwalk on the Harbor, started by DestinBoardwalk.com and AJ's Seafood, and is held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 16, April 20 and May 18 within the Destin Boardwalk from east of Margaritaville to AJ’s.  The event is free.



Mattie Kelly Arts Center



The national tour of “Lady Smith Black Mambazo” to benefit public broadcasting affiliate WUWF will be held at 7:30 p.m. March 21 in the mainstage theater at the Niceville campus of NWFSC.

Opening reception for the Arts and Design Society’s show “Inspired by Seurat” will be held from 6-8 p.m. March 21 at 17 First Street, SE, in Fort Walton Beach. Show runs March 18-April 11.

Sandestin Wine Festival



The 28th Annual Sandestin Wine Festival will take place April 10-13 at Baytowne Wharf. Four days of unique events open up a wide range of experiences from attending wine dinners with celebrity chefs, participating in preview events throughout the year, and taking part in wine tastings that showcase hundreds of wines.



Seabreeze Jazz Festival



The 16th Annual Seabreeze Jazz Festival returns April 23-27 at the Pier Park Amphitheater (Aaron Beasant Park) in Panama City Beach. Some of the performers are Michael J Thomas, Jones and Company, Lebron, Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue, Dave Koz and Friends Summer Horns featuring Dave Koz, Gerald Albright, Mindi Abair, and Richard Elliot.
