Special to The Log

Holy Kidz had a busy 2013 with a spring camp, two summer camps with more than 200 children attending, two Greatest Gift camps, a winter camp and eight outreach events.

His Greatest Gift Camp was a huge success this year with 74 sponsored kidz at camp sponsored by Beachy Beach Realty. These camps could not have been possible without all of the wonderful donations, the help from our leaders and directors, the churches in the area opening their doors and allowing us to perform our ministry and the mighty hand of Jesus.

Going forward for 2014 God has begun to lay some cobblestones for new adventures and camps for Holy Kidz. I feel God telling me that my tent pegs will be enlarging. With growth comes expenses, so we will be having fundraisers this year.

Our first fundraiser will be from 8-10 a.m. March 1 at Applebee’s in Sandestin. Tickets are $7 each for the Flapjack Fundraiser.

Our second is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 30 at Applebee’s in Sandestin and Crestview with "Dining to Donate" where 10 percent of your bill will be donated to Holy Kidz Camps.

And last but certainly not least, during one of our Greatest Gift Camps local artist Mary Hong came and inspired the children to make art from recycled glass, which took place at Coastline Calvary Church. This artwork will be up for auction at the first major fundraiser in April. More details to come.

We will also have spring camps in March if the schools decide to keep Spring Break after this cold snap.

I also will be handling all the childcare for Women of Destiny again this year starting April 4. Except Holy Kidz doesn't do "childcare," we perform a ministry. We will go in for three or four hours and provide wholesome faith based teaching with arts and crafts wrapped around fun, Christian entertainment and heart pumping excitement.

Tami Carr is the founder of Holy Kidz Summer Camps, a branch of Holy Mackerel Summer Camps she began at Immanuel Anglican Church in 2006 as their children’s pastor. She believes God called her out of the church, but not out of ministry, and she now oversees the planting of Holy Kidz  Camps across the Panhandle and wherever the Lord shall lead her.
