SUP the South, stand-up paddleboard race series, will kick off March 22 here in Destin.
Paddle Destin along with Legendary Marine will host the first leg of the three race series that will guide paddleboarders through three of the most southern states.
The states of Florida, Mississippi and Alabama will all be represented as Paddle Destin, Mississippi Gulf Coast Paddle and Paddle Lake Martin will showcase their states during the series.
Each race will consist of a 1-mile beginner race, 3-mile recreational race and a 6-mile elite race.
Race dates and locations are as follows:
March 22 - Destin (Legendary Yacht Club)
April 26 - Bay St. Louis, Miss. (Bay-Waveland Yacht Club)
May 17 - Eclectic, Ala. (Children's Harbor at Lake Martin)
The 1-mile beginner race is $35 - surf style (male/female), 12-feet-6 (male/female).
The 3-mile recreational race is $45 - surf style (male/female), 12-feet-6 (male/female), 14-feet (male).
Cost for the 6-mile elite race is $45 - surf style (male/female), 12-feet-6 (male/female), 14-feet (male/female).
The top three 17 and under and 50-plus will also be awarded for each race.

T-shirts and lunch will also be provided for all racers. Races start at 10 a.m.
