Info for Children’s Summer Fun Guidebook
The United Way of Okaloosa and Walton Counties is gathering information on children’s summer programs for the “2014 Children’s Summer Fun Guidebook,” designed to help parents find safe, fun and educational daytime summer activities for children. The criteria for the guidebook includes: programs offered to youth ages 4–18 during the months of June, July and August.
Send a general description of the programs to have listed including dates, times, cost and any items the children may need to bring. Download forms at www.United-Way.org. The last days for schools are May 23 in Walton County and June 5 in Okaloosa County.

United Way Volunteer of the Year
Brice Horwell has been recognized at the United Way of Okaloosa and Walton Counties’ Volunteer of the Year.
Horwell has volunteered with Covenant Hospice for more than seven years and has averaged more than 210 hours and 1,600 miles travelled annually to meet the requests and needs of those served by the non-profit hospice. He has helped provide compassionate end-of-life care to more than 240 patients and their families.
A Navy veteran, Horwell is active in Covenant Hospice’s We Honor Veterans program, which provides special recognition and care for veterans at the end of life. He also serves in the hospice’s 11th Hour volunteer program to provide a soothing, comforting presence for patients who may not have friends or family nearby to support them in their final journey. The mission of this program is to ensure no one dies alone.

Russell & Russell Consulting LLC marks its second year by continuing to expand its client roster with regional, national and international accounts.
Founded in March 2012, the Northwest Florida-based hospitality management company is owned and operated by two industry veterans. John Russell, who has served as general manager in eight of the 19 hotels he has worked in during his three-decade career, primarily handles property management operation and financials.
Scott Russell, whose hotel career has taken him around the world as a sales/training development leader largely for Ritz Carlton, focuses on building integrated sales and marketing strategies and mapping out the resources needed for full deployment.
