Travel on back to the Wild West or to the glorious Victorian era of the 1800s with Buster's Old Time Photos in Destin.

Buster's, a themed old-timey photo business based out of Branson, Mo., just added Destin as its fourth nation-wide location. Housed in the old Dippin’ Dots location at 304 Harbor Boulevard, the company rolled into Destin three weeks ago in order to open by the beginning of the spring break rush.

"It's basically the closest thing to a time machine we like to say," said assistant manager Skip Holliday. "It's just really a good family entertainment, good family memory and souvenir to take with you."

Period costumes from corsets and fishnets, to chaps and boots are provided, as well as antique props such as tin tubs, miniature pianos, and a plethora of guns.

"We can dress you from head to toe from a newborn baby to several X's," said general manger, Kyle Pace. "We can accommodate every size."

Buster's welcomes groups, families, individuals and even pets, and session costs vary based on group size.

"It's an eclectic group of people that like to do old time photos," Holliday said.

Once the photos have been processed, a choice of coloring and page design is available. The print can be classic black and white or sepia, full colored or even hand colored. Page designs include yellowed marriage certificates, custom wording, or the most popular look, the reward money wanted signs.

Buster's has two locations in Branson, Mo., and one in Galveston Texas, and have hand picked their locations based on tourism.

"It's all tourist based for sure," said Holliday, "I've moved around a lot in the last couple of years; it's a fun job so I like to stick with it."

One exciting feature of the business is the ability for onsite photography.

"We've had a couple weddings, in old western or Victorian style,” Pace said. “We can also do birthday parties and family reunions; we are all about family events."

Originally from South Florida, Pace said he is glad to be back on the water again.

"As a whole we are pretty excited to be in Destin, and offer good, clean, wholesome fun," Pace said.
