Destin Festival of the Arts
DESTIN – The Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation will present the 17th Annual Destin Festival of the Arts from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 27 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 28 at Henderson Beach State Park. This signature event features more than 100 artists from around the United States who will exhibit in more than 18 different mediums competing for more than $9,000 in cash prizes. Other amenities are live musical entertainment, a bistro-style food court, Kid’s ArtStop and festival merchandise. NICEVILLE – Northwest Florida State College piano professor Lois Van Dam will present a recital of selected works by the renowned composer Frederic Chopin at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 27 in the Tyler Recital Hall of the music wing at the Mattie Kelly Arts Center on the college campus. Grand and Exotic Car Show
SANDESTIN – Destin’s Grand and Exotic Car Show & Rally will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 27 in Town Center at Grand Boulevard. Presented by Motorfest Magazine and featuring the Destin Car Club and Smith Motorworks, more than 100 of the finest and most exotic cars around including Porsches, Lamborghinis, Lotus, Ferraris and Maseratis will line the boulevard. Window Gallery Display
FORT WALTON BEACH – To showcase the work of local artists, the Arts and Design Society presents exhibits in their studio windows facing First Street. In October, the work of Penny MacPherson, sculptor and painter in oils, will be on display. Call 244-1271.

Pastel Society Juried Exhibition
NICEVILLE – The Pastel Society of North Florida will host its 12th Biennial National Juried All-Pastel Exhibition Oct. 28 to Nov. 30 at Mattie Kelly Arts Center Galleries, 100 College Blvd. at Northwest Florida State College. Life's a Beach
FORT WALTON BEACH – The Arts and Design Society, 17 First Street, SE, hosts the exhibition of the Life's a Beach publications' annual cover competition, featuring colorful paintings reflecting the beach environment, from Oct. 30-Nov. 9. A reception will be held from 6-8 p.m. Nov. 7.

Telluride Mountain Film Festival
SANTA ROSE BEACH ¬– Celebrate the 12th Annual Film Festival at WaterColor Inn & Resort Nov. 2-3. Festival gates open at 6 p.m. and films begin at 7 p.m. at the Marina Park Amphitheater under the stars. Bring blankets and lawn chairs.

Destin – First Baptist Church, 201 Beach Drive, will host a free movie, “Courageous,” at 5 p.m. Nov. 4 in the sanctuary. A nursery will be provided for babies and toddlers. Showing is open to the public, no tickets required.
First Arts Concert

ROSEMARY BEACH – One of South Walton's premier events celebrating the migration of the Monarch Butterfly, Flutterby Festival takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 10 and 11 at South Barrett Square, Main Street and Western Green. The event provides live music, interactive storytelling, animal encounters and an array of artists, vendors and exhibitors. A master gardener will be on hand teaching children the art of building a butterfly garden. DMS Concert and Silent Auction
DESTIN – The Destin Middle School Fall Concert and Silent Auction will be held at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 29 at Village Baptist Church, 101 Matthew Blvd. The auction bidding begins at 6 p.m. The concert is free.
Independent film series
DESTIN – The Friends Guild of the Destin Library presents an independent and foreign film at 7 p.m. the third Tuesday of the month. The program is free and open to the public. Films are unrated and directed toward mature audiences. Seating will be limited to 60 on a first come, first served basis.
Sounds of the Season
The Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation will present their annual Christmas concert, Sounds of the Season, at 7 p.m. Dec. 7 at Village Baptist Church in Destin.
Admission is a donation of an unwrapped child’s toy to be distributed among the participating church’s outreach ministries. A love offering at intermission will benefit the Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation’s “All Kinds of Art” program, a children’s educational outreach for the literary, performing and visual arts.
