Baytowne on Ice



SANDESTIN The ice skating rink at The Village of Baytowne Wharf will be open through Jan. 31 at the Apex Broadcasting Skating Pavilion. For $10 guests can skate for an hour and a half. Skate rental is $2. The first hour of each day is reserved for "kids skate" for youth 12 and under. Season passes are available for $140. During November bring two non-perishable cans of food for Harvest House of Destin and receive a free skate rental. Call 816-682-1003 for times and special skating packages.



Shirley Simpson in Leading Ladies



DESTIN – The Friends of the Destin Library will present Shirley Simpson on stage in “Leading Ladies” at 3 p.m. Jan. 11 in the library’s Calhoun Room. Tickets for this one‐hour event are $5 each ($3 for seniors and students) and are available from the Destin Library. To be assured of seating tickets must be purchased and picked up by Jan. 10. Cat show



OKALOOSA ISLAND Destiny Cat Fanciers will host its seventh annual Cat Show from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan 12 and 13 at the Emerald Coast Convention Center. Admission is $6/adults and $5/seniors, military and children 4-12. Children under 4 are admitted free. Get $1 off your admission with a large can or unopened bag of cat food.



Local rescue group Feline Friends of Destin will again attend the show and bring homeless pets for adoption. They will also collect donations and sell promotional items to support their efforts in managing feral cat populations and fostering adoptable cats and kittens. NICEVILLE Soka Gakkai International presents The Century of Women, a national traveling exhibit, in both galleries at the Mattie Kelly Fine & Performing Arts Center from Jan. 19-Feb. 1.
