The good times will roll all weekend long into Fat Tuesday at Destin’s HarborWalk Village.

The fun starts on Friday night Feb. 8 with a Destin Nights' Mardi Gras pub crawl through HarborWalk Village. For a $10 donation, participants receive a wristband good for free Mardi Gras swag, drink specials and live music throughout the evening. Proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.

On Saturday at 2 p.m., the 5th Annual Mardi Gras parade will roll, followed by a family fun day on Sunday with concert by The DizzyJukes Band and the soon to be famous Jester Pardi Paddle sponsored by Kitty Hawk Kites.

The main event will be Saturday’s Grande Parade with more than 100 parade entries rolling, floating, pedaling and pushing their way down the Destin harbor from AJ's Seafood and Oyster Bar to the west end of HarborWalk Village. The top three parade entries will win awards, including weekend stays at Emerald Grande, spa treatments and Mardi Gras lagniappe. Click on this story at thedestinlog.com for a Mardi Gras parade application.

This year's parade will culminate in an epic weekend-long street festival featuring stilt walkers, jugglers, balloon artists, concerts, dining, dancing and family fun. Revelers can make carnival masks, march to brass bands and catch handfuls of colorful beads at the 2013 celebration.

All parade participants and the viewing public are asked to bring boxes of food or cash donations for Destin's Harvest House.

"We have the opportunity to impact the lives of others by partnering with our local food banks through Destin Harvest" said Jamie Hall, marketing director for HarborWalk Village.

"Our hope is to raise much needed funds, collect non-perishable food items and bring awareness to our local families who struggle daily to feed their families. We all want to help and participating in this event gives back to our community."

Destin Harvest is a non-profit telephone and transportation network operating in the Florida Panhandle that picks up the donated food and takes it to the social service agencies serving the people who need it.

HarborWalk Village is located at the foot of the Destin Bridge on Highway 98 in Destin. All Mardi Gras events on the Destin harbor are free and open to the public.
