Outgoing Secretary of State Hillary Clinton put on a great show, but didn't answer the tough questions of what really happened in Benghazi. It was a Kumbaya moment and love fest amongst the Democrats on the panel and only cemented how this president and his cabinet hide the truth in a lockbox.
Senators Ron Paul, McCain and Johnson were the only senators who asked tough question and laid out missing parts of the puzzle. Clinton spent most the day fielding statements lauding her brilliance, and receiving praise for being the greatest secretary of state of all times. We still end up without the answers to the questions of how four Americans died in a terrorist attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi and who made the decision not to send in help.
Secretary Clinton's statement, "We had four dead Americans. Was it because of a protest, or was it because of guys out for a walk one night who decided they'd go kill some Americans? What difference, at this point, does it make?”
Sorry, Secretary Clinton, that statement isn't acceptable to the American people and to the families of those four dead patriots. The Obama administration being absent from Libya after Gaddafi fell added fuel to the fire with the growth of extremism taking root.
So far, no one has permanently been removed from the state department or removed from the payroll for not making sure the secretary was aware of the security needs requested from her ambassador in Benghazi. It is difficult to believe that the secretary of state and the president did not have the same information regarding the terrorist attack that the intelligence department received.
I admire her talents as a lawyer, but will reserve my opinion as to her being a great secretary of state.
