Douglas Jordan, broker associate of JPB Commercial Real Estate Advisors in Miramar Beach, received the prestigious Certified Business Intermediary (CBI) designation during the IBBA Conference for Professional Development Conference in Las Vegas, Nev., recently. Business brokers are the intermediaries for owners who want to sell their business and buyers who want to purchase a business.
Business broker transactions ó mainly geared to brokering sales of small to mid-size businesses ó are valued at more than $15 billion per year in the U.S. and affect the economic well being of thousands of communities.
Jordan was awarded the CBI designation after demonstrating a superior knowledge about the functions and applications of business broker services, documenting practical experience, participating in a rigorous curriculum of Association courses, attending an IBBA Conference for Professional Development, passing a comprehensive examination, and pledging to uphold and practice IBBA 's Code of Ethics. He is one of only four active CBIís in Northwest Florida.
Jordan was presented a plaque certifying the designation by IBBA Chairman Edwin Kan Hing Lee, CBI, CPA, CFA who said, "Doug Jordanís achievement is a significant professional accomplishment that identifies him among America's most highly qualified and credentialed business intermediaries. It is the hallmark of excellence in our profession."
