The Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office deputy who investigated the 2 a.m. call on Jan. 17 saw a handprint on the woman's back.
The victim told the deputy that they had been drinking at the Red Door Bar when they decided to walk to Club Aqua. While they were walking, her boyfriend slapped her. They argued and he ran away, she told the deputy.
A witness said she had been with them at the Red Door Bar. As they were walking away, she could hear them arguing about car keys. She turned away and moments later heard a loud sound.
She looked and saw the woman holding her lower back and crying. The man was running through the parking lot, where he hopped over a fence and fell.
