KNEE MAIL: Treasures that change your life

Have you heard about the barnyard in Mariposa, Calif? There had been a huge rainstorm. Water gushed through the pens of livestock leaving mud in the barnyard floor. Soil had shifted from the hillside and stones fell in the erosion.

A little girl named Angelia was playing with the chickens after the storm. A certain pebble caught her attention. Many times she had collected small rocks from inside the barnyard. This particular stone seemed to shine brighter. It was obviously different.  Angelia carried the stone with care to her father.

Her father found the stone to be indeed very special. It was a nugget of solid gold worth thousands of dollars. Hundreds of children in hundreds of barnyards could have searched for a special stone, but Angelia found this precious treasure that could change her life.

Many people search for peace and truth. People are looking for that perfect piece of their life that sparkles. There is a truth that shines bright and can change your life.

With 2010 beginning, let me encourage you to take time to read your Bible daily. Many people are looking for their treasure that will change their life and it can be found in God’s Word. Peace is something that we continually look for. Reading God’s Word with a childlike faith will prove to show forth one of the greatest gold fields. When we read the Bible, we’ll find nuggets of priceless value.
