Blood smeared, wax flung in trashed condo
DESTIN - Lawmen say pair of tenants trashed a condo to the tune of nearly $18,000, smearing blood on the carpet and flinging candle wax throughout the place.
Joann James, 45, is charged with felony criminal mischief.
She had leased the Destin Palms Select condo with another man for about three weeks, according to her arrest report. Inside, a deputy saw dried blood smears across the living room floor, where James had been walking around for more than a day with an "unbandaged, lacerated foot" from a September domestic incident. The blood got on the draperies, too.
Also in the living room, a chair cushion was shredded. Dried candle wax was on the floors, walls and upholstery.
A small closet door was torn off the hinges and the telephone was missing except for the earpiece, the deputy said.
"None of the damages appeared to be normal wear and tear, but rather intentional," she wrote in the arrest report.
