Lawmen: Captain grabbed girl's buttocks, faces molestation charge
DESTIN - A charter boat captain faces felony molestation charges for "grabbing" a girl's buttocks Thursday as she walked with her family along Harbor Walk Marina.
Christopher Garner, 29, of Pine Ridge Trace, is charged with lewd or lascivious molestation on a victim between the ages of 12 and 16 and disorderly conduct, according to the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office.
The girl told sheriff's deputies he was intoxicated when he approached her face-to-face at the marina. She said she walked around him, but he turned and approached her from behind, "grabbing her buttocks with his right hand." Then he "groped on her buttocks" with it, according to the report.
Family members held Garner at the scene until security officers arrived. When a deputy came, he said Garner was too intoxicated to make a statement.
