Children benefit from Destin's Grace
The children in the Philippines have benefitted once again from the generosity of the Grace Foundation of Destin. Mission Love Seeds recently announced the completion of its third church in the Philippines, built in Sitio Dumpsite. The church was made possible by a grant from the Foundation.
Almost 600 children and adults attended the first worship service held in March in the new church.
Barbi Carroll-Hawbaker, president of Mission Love Seeds, told The Log “the church was overflowing, and many stood outside to take part in the service.” MLS plans to hold a vacation Bible school there in June.
Mission Love Seeds has also been able to build two more water purification systems in the Philippines, and children no longer have to walk 3 to 4 miles to get their daily water supply.
“MLS was losing about 10 children a year from vomiting and diarrhea before installing the systems, but since the installation of six systems in the five villages, not one child has died,” Carroll said.
All six water purification systems were made possible by grants form the Grace Foundation of Destin, which MLS considers a true blessing to them and especially to the people in the villages.
