Man passes out at bar, refuses to leave

DESTIN - Police were called to Sushi Siam at Destin Commons after a man passed out at the bar and could not be awakened Nov. 8.

An Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office deputy responded and tried to shake the 20-year-old man and raise him off the bar, but he would sit up and then go back to lying on the counter, according to the incident report.

The deputy and the manager worked together to try and wake him up, but had no success.

Finally, the deputy grabbed his arm and told him to stand up. The man tensed and pulled his arm back.

The deputy took him to the ground and then escorted him out of the bar.

An ambulance was called but the man refused to go to the hospital. He was released to a friend.
