Santa, do the Destin snowbirds have elves?
Yes Virginia, it is true! The snowbird elves have been busy since October, collecting door prizes for all the good snowbirds, soon to arrive in Destin. A team of 11 elves have collected enough prizes for a draw of at least 50 gifts at each meeting until the end of the season. The first three meetings were a warm-up for all the fun we will have when the big crowd arrives in January.
The prize committee, Jan and Terry Werner, Pam and David Chandler, Linda and John Testa, Nancy and Paul Hewitt, Diane Neeb, Rick Paquin (golf) and Raymonde Jean, would like to thank the many sponsors we have met this fall season. The support of the business community has been heartwarming. We wish a very prosperous New Year to all.
A full list of contributors is posted on the website, www.destinsnowbirds.org, and we urge all members to have a look. We would also urge the membership to watch for those sharp looking certificates, created by Raymonde, posted in the many restaurants, shops, beauty salons, golf courses, etc. and thank them for their support when you visit them.
Yes, Virginia, this week is Christmas. Merry Christmas to all of Destin. Wish all the Destin snowbirds a very Merry Christmas and safe travels into a very Happy New Year.
