MathCounts competes at state level

Destin Middle School’s MathCounts team traveled to Orlando to compete in the state MathCounts competition which was held on March 28.
Team members Jay Patel, Sabrina Valenti, Stephanie Hsiang, and Pace McDonald competed among 43 other teams in the state of Florida to place 20th.

Also traveling with the team were three members from Destin’s second team, Corey Andre, Connor Holley, and Peter Mitchell. In addition to attending the competition, while in Orlando, they also went to Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, Disney Quest and Disney’s Magic Kingdom.
MathCounts will resume practice again next September to prepare for the first competition of the 2008-2009 school year.
