A Global Village
The new County Road 30A development of Redfish Village has an interest in coasts far away from our Emerald one.
Every Friday night through Aug. 30, the eight-acre development is holding a “Beach Villages of the World” celebration — whether it’s Capri in Italy, Dingle in Ireland or July 11’s salute to Goza in Japan. England, Spain, Germany, India and Greece are also on the schedule, with celebrations that will “recapture the culture of the selected village through music, food and beverages,” according to Stuart Slicis, Redfish Village broker associate.
Slicis told The Log that Redfish has 80 residential units: “It’s a mixed-use project. The first floors of our buildings are commercial, with select merchants; upstairs ranges from 1,185 square foot two-bedroom units to 1,685 square foot three-bedroom with bunk beds.”
Prices range from $550,000 to $995,000, Slicis said.
The developers see Redfish Village as following in the tradition of “great small beach towns and villages that existed for generations along the Gulf coast,” according to a Redfish press release. The village has been master planned around the village center, and fits in the tradition of 30A’s “walkable communities,” where visitors can shop, walk and entertain themselves without having to use their cars.
Entertainment options include a media room with widescreen NDTV, DVD player, surround sound and lounge seating; a library with wireless Internet and, currently, over 100 books; a fitness room; concierge service; and Redfish Lake, a coastal dune lake.
Businesses in Redfish include Planet Smoothie, PJ’s Coffee, Seering’s Piano Cafe, H20 Properties and the Aesthetic Clinic spa.
An array of quality owner amenities without dependence upon the automobile — private beach access for owners and guests, unique shops and boutiques, quality restaurants, concierge services, planned events, swimming pools — all interconnect with Redfish Lake, one of the few coastal dune lakes in the world.
Houses are designed with deep roof overhangs, double hung windows, shaded porches, wood floors and balconies. The press release says that while the design is cohesive, there’s enough diversity to keep the look interesting.
“In Redfish Village,” Slicis said, “we are working to integrate the vitality of a small village with the quiet, natural beauty of a rare coastal dune lake here in Blue Mountain Beach.”
