'What's wrong with a man driving home naked?': Man wearing only a hat, glasses and sandals charged with DUI

DeFUNIAK SPRINGS - A man wearing only a hat, sunglasses and sandals who deputies discovered sitting in a parked car Monday night has been charged with driving under the influence.

The 58-year-old DeFuniak Springs resident's pickup truck was parked off County Highway 1883 and was partially blocking traffic, according to a news release from the Walton County Sheriff's Office.

When the deputies approached the truck, they saw the man was naked.

"What's wrong with a man driving home naked? It's not against the law," he told a deputy, according to the report.

Deputies smelled alcohol on the man's breath and from a passenger who began yelling at them.

When a deputy tried to get the passenger out of the car, 47-year-old Phyllis Cumbie struck him with her fist before she was handcuffed, the report stated.

She faces a felony charge of battery on a law-enforcement officer.
