Ethan Allen to open its doors in Destin

Ethan Allen Interiors Inc. is expanding its offerings of fine interior furnishings and design services into the Destin market.

“I feel this is a wonderful fit for both the residents of Destin as well as Ethan Allen,” said Ryan Disher, who is currently operating a store in Dayton, Ohio, but will be moving to Destin. “We have a loyal nationwide following and there is no doubt many of our clients are here in the area.”

The Danbury, CT.,-based company, which owns and operates seven manufacturing facilities in North America, will be moving into a building that is currently occupied near Destin Commons.

The move has been in the works for about nine months and the company expects to gain occupancy on the building by March 1.

Several years ago the company was close to opening a store in the area, but due to the downturn of the economy, they held off and Disher says now the timing is right.

“I’m ecstatic to get down there and get things going,” he told The Log.

Destin’s Ethan Allen store plans to employ approximately 12 employees, including three or four full-time interior designers.  The store is expected to open late May or early June.
