Destin O'Charley's evacuated for 'suspicious package' in salad

A restaurant was evacuated mid-morning Friday after employees found a "suspicious package" in a bag of salad that had been delivered.

The package was described as an envelope with a flashing light and it was found inside the salad bag.

Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to O'Charley's at 34906 Emerald Coast Parkway about 10 a.m.

They discovered that the flashing light was on a shipping device that tracks the temperature on produce, according to Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Nicole Wagner.

The case was closed.
