Busy times in Belize for volunteer

Dear family in Christ,

I knew it was the hot, dry season when I spied the huge, gorgeous, fuschia sunset the other night.

Thank you for you faithful prayers and $250 missions and $300 designated support.

When Belize had their elections, school was out for the day, so I went to the George Price Center for Peace and Development to help curator Elsie Alpuche with her children’s program.

Fees for Betsy, our sponsored student, are covered for the next academic year. Jessica, the village girl I am tutoring, passed this term. I was very proud of my fourth grade music students Praise Song and Dance presentation on Saturday.

Belize Christian Academy successfully held their second Easter Extravaganza in Independence Park. It was a beautiful day starting with Dr. Morrow’s remarks along with the Belmopan mayor’s remarks. Students and staff arrived early to set up game booths with prizes, a food box table, an egg hunt field and a hot dog and drink table. One girl was blessed with a donated bicycle. All time, items and tents were donated. A fun gift to the community!

Twenty-five persons, who live at the dump, were blessed. I will be getting two wheelchairs for ladies.

I was proud of the BCA students blessing other young people. BCA third grader, Jasmin, received a gold medal for piano and silver for flute during the Festival of the Arts along with students winning certificates for art. Ms. Lisa is so creative with the kids.

During spring break, parents, students and staff will have a school painting party for a couple of days.

As I have stated before, when mission teams come, it is awesome to see how God uses them. This time, they spruced up Step of Faith Church, added a dorm for Oasis Missions, and participated at the Independence Plaza monthly Praise and Prayer for Belize. Along with Pastor Ron and others, they were called in to pray with the police academy because witchcraft was taking place.

I was so thankful to meet with women for prayer and hear how God is blessing their work — all relating to children, but that’s a letter in itself.
After church, I had my two teen Sunday school helpers for chicken. We prayed up and prepared for our month of April and the 40 to 60 kids we’ll be seeing each Sunday.

After Easter service will be baptisms at the river. Know Him! Yada, Yada, Yada.
