Fake SS card fails to get man cell phone

Results of an Immigration Alien Query are pending against a Hispanic man busted recently for using an invalid Social Security card to try to buy a cell phone.

The man entered the Best Buy at 34940 Emerald Coast Parkway in Destin and applied for a T-Mobile account “to purchase a cell phone with a two year contract,” an Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office report said.

“T-Mobile rejected the contract application based on the Social Security number being not valid,” the report stated.

The Social Security card, along with the man’s INS card, were confiscated for later verification, the report said. The Immigration Alien Query was submitted and authorities are waiting on results, the report said.
