Clock is ticking, so have fun every minute!

Time is running out my friends and one of these days spring will descend in the north and all the Snowbirds will be heading back home. Our fun times are dwindling down so we hope you took advantage of all that was offered.

Next Tuesday's meeting will feature David Seering as our entertainment, a favorite performer of many of our members.

Following the last meeting at 11 am, the Friendship Club will meet for lunch at The Lighthouse.

At the meetings, see Fran Yee for your tickets to the casinos on Fridays. They are a great bargain at this time - only $10 to reserve your seat on the bus and you will receive $15 in "Free Play" at the casino. The last trip to Biloxi will be on March 7. Don't miss out on this deal! Call Fran at 837-7093, extension 1014

Also at the meetings you may buy your tickets for the Storage Lockers. The price is $7 per box. Beginning Saturday, Feb 23, the lockers will be open from 8-9:30 am until Saturday, March 29. If you have any questions, please call Jim Galea at 651-2077.

Tennis is still on-going into March, but the following activities will be ending by Feb 29 - Bowling, Blood Pressures, Nine-Hole Golf League, Cards and two meetings on Tuesday mornings. Tuesday, March 4, we go back to only one meeting at 10 am.

For many years now, we have sponsored a concert at OWC by their talented students with all the proceeds being presented to the college for their benefit. The year $9000 was the amount!

The Jack Kline Cancer Memorial Fund Golf Outing this year raised $1700 which is being presented to the Cancer Foundation.

The Snowbird Talent Show was great fun and we thank Margaret Marcella for chairing this event and to all the performers who entertained us.

We had many, many craft tables at the Craft Show displaying the products of their talents. Such fine work was there for your purchase. Thanks to Margaret Boudreau and Jan Werner for supervising the show.

The Ladies Only Golf Scramble at Bluewater Bay was a big success. We enjoyed a pleasant sunny day of golf followed by lunch and prize awards. We had 120 golfers making 30 teams. Cash prizes were awarded to 64 golfers by four flights: first flight - team score, 78-80; second flight - score 81-84: third flight - score 86-87; fourth flight - score 91-96.

Prize for closest to the pin went to Winn Anderson and for the straightest drive to Bev Putnam. In addition there were eight door prize winners! Thanks to Kitty Spitz and her committee for taking on this responsibility for Lise Walsh, a job well done.

Remember that Monday, Feb 25, is a Play Day at Shalimar Pointe. Call 651-4300 for tee times - $35. Remember to show your Destin Snowbird ID to participate.

Jeanne Boyd, publicity director
